Affinity Designer. Inexpensive with no subscription. Fast and smooth on even my old Macs. iPad/Pencil support. Im just a hobbyist so I cant have a subscription plan that I might only use a few times a year. Thats what got my in the door with Affinity products. Been a convert ever since. Theyre having a sale on their softwares right now to support the creative community during COVID. 90-day free trials and 50% off if you choose to buy.

I use Draw, mostly because that's what I learn in my career, and I find it a little more user friendly. Given that both can import the other's native format, you could try them for a month and then convert all your work to the one that fits you better.

I would personally say Illustrator since it's a popular tool to know, but if you plan on doing any sort of printing (like T-shirts, or specialized materials like holographic films and the like) or engraving, you should (also) learn CorelDraw since a lot of industry printers specifically use that. Ultimately they're not too different conceptually and it's not too bad to go between the two.

Illustrator. Not just for the software itself, but for the entire family of adobe products. By using them all together, you can have greater harmony between the software when creating. When going to the studio, too, it is very likely that they will use illustrator, which is the default in most

Adobe Illustrator. But Why not both? Corel is amazing with simpler tasks. Cannot imagine having only 1.
