battle royale games taking over?

pubg was fun when i played with a buddy but it didn't have good pacing. Fortnite has been really fun imo

I like them but I think that its a to big hype... I think the games are will be played less in the following months...

yeah battle royale games are taking over since it can be on console which has a huge playerbase while league cant although has a huge playerbase too in other countries luckily, but the rapid growth of fortnite if refreshing items and weapons keep coming, i see this game being a good future genre

Well, as of right now battle royale games are what people seem to like but in a couple of years something will interest people and it won't be as popular as it is.

Before PUBG and Fortnite there were really no good BR games. H1 had its chance but messed up too many times. BR was a good idea but just needed the right game with the right feel. Yea after that it took off. All things die off eventually and I don't expect BR games to be popular forever. Something new and cool will always come around eventually.

I think its just a phase, couple of years a go building block games ie minecraft,roblox was the hottest new thing, everything goes in cycles

Now that even the new Call of Duty is going to have a battle royale mode, yes, I believe it is taking over. But every generation of gamers has fads... open world seems to be a long-lasting one now, but maybe it's just because consoles have gotten powerful enough to make really interactive and big ones. I think the streamers are what caused this, and developers said "how can we make games that are fun to watch and play?" and this is what they came up with...

fortnite is the top of twitch like every time i check and has a lot of people watching and streaming so i guess they are taking over lol

Fortnite provides an experience no other game provides, which is the challenge and speed of outbuilding your opponent. You can be a great shooter, but if someone can build, you're done.
