I think laravel is best so far now a days laravel is updated to version 8.
Laravel is a web application framework with expressive, elegant syntax. A web framework provides a structure and starting point for creating your application, allowing you to focus on creating something amazing while we sweat the details.

yes laravel is best among others and I am also working on it

For me the best is Symfony. It has every thing, yet it is modular so you can only use the part you really need. It provide a clean and maintenable architecture, but yu can also use it as a noob and let it configure everything.

Laravel is always my best choice for beginners.
Symphony is nice to, you can check that as well

Have you tried Lumen? Lightweight Laravel like framework (from the laravel makers) but only with the API part.

This depends on what kind of project you'll build. Like if you want to build something small you don't want to use Laravel, instead you can use CodeIgniter or even Lumen that is a lightweight version of Laravel.

Laravel is best for scalability and building web apps quickly. Has a really nice database connector as well and supports mysql, mssql, postgres, and sqlite. The only downside is that its quite resource intense. Mostly memory.

I'd suggest Laravel, but it really depends on what you want to do.
