I like Netflix for being complete in general, of all Streamings it has the best application, it works far superior to other services I've tested.

It all depends on what content you're really wanting to stream. I subscribe to just about all of them, but that's because I have a lot of family living in my house and everyone has different tastes. We all split the bills for them, so it's fairly economical.

Imo,

Netflix is better for movies and originals (both TV shows and Movies), I love me some Stranger Things and now Cobra Kai is owned by Netflix.

Hulu is better for current TV shows and shows you want to watch as they come out. My wife has a thing for Grey's Anatomy so we have to have Hulu.

Amazon Prime does have a decent selection of movies and do have some good originals from time to time, but I feel like there catalogue is not as deep as Netflix's especially if you use all the genre codes.

Vudu, while not a streaming subscription service, does offer a limited catalogue of free movies and TV shows, which gets rotated every so often. So depending on where your tastes lie, you might find some decent freebies to stream on there.

IMDBtv, not a streaming subscription service, does a have a decent catalogue of free movies, most of which seem older 90s and before with a couple handfuls of newer stuff.

HBO Max, is great if you are a fan of WB movies and their catalogue of Original TV Shows. I love Game of Thrones and some of the DC movies. HBO Max also offers certain movies concurrently with their theatre release for about 30 days from the time of it's release, and if you are a subscriber, you get to watch it for free. And as far as I know this will continue through the end of this year.

There are quite a few more that I own, but they start getting real specific like Disney+ and Paramount+. So it just depends on what you're looking to stream. But overall, price wise, I think Netflix is the best bang for your buck, at least when considering the size of it's catalogue and the caliber of its originals (at least compared to originals offered by other services).

Hope that helps.

Btw, I should make mention that, yes, there are ways to watch the majority of this stuff for free online, be it certain sites, torrents, or Kodi, but in my opinion it is just much easier to pick a subscription service and deal with that. Going the free route, you will have to contend with quality, and the potential for some of thesites (depending on the ones you are using)to go down, and it just becomes a hassle. Don't get me wrong, if you're willing to put up with that stuff, then for sure, go fo it. But if you're just wanting a no-fuss experience (except forwhen the rates of the subscriptions go up), you're probably better off with a paid service.

For anime, funimation, it's cheap and you can watch all the anime you want! Uhm I'd say netflix for movies and CW shows!

Yes, I second this. Funimation is great. It also offers a lot of English dubbed stuff as well (if you're like me and have a hard time following along and reading subtitles). They also have a robust library of content, and they even do live simulcasts for some shows. For anime, it is very good.
