i'm interested to see what everyone else likes to do just for themselves or their friends. or maybe just your favorite type of design project, even if it's for school or work!

for me,i have a prettybig group offriends and wehave been goingto the same bar every monday for a few years (except for the past 10 months or so...) andsometimes just to keep it interesting i make up a theme and design a poster for it as if it was a big event. i started doing this to commemorate our first "anniversary" and have taught myself a lot of design techniques through this process. i like it because it gives me something to do and helps me hone my skills! our "anniversary" would be happeningthis coming monday if bars were open in my state, so i'm doing a poster for ourvirtual party right now. i'malso currently designing stickers for valentines day.

so, what about everyone else? what's fun for you?

I'm trying to get good at posters so just setting for myself a weekly theme thing and trying to get it done between work commissions and life

ot: that's quite sweet and heartwarming honestly lol I'm kinda missing the bar/pub get together situations since covid

Lockdown has been kind enough to allow me to explore my hobbies again. This being one of them. I think its important to practice them, you may neve know when we get an opportunity like this again before the world goes back to the same ol busy pace!

a long running graphic novel that i can see ever being finished or published. But i like to keep working on it anyway, the process is rewarding enough

projects are important to have!

Doing free stuff for friends and family usually pays off with referrals down the line. As a designer, there's always lots to learn. Fun for me is mastering as many Adobe apps as possible. It's almost impossible to grow without having fun learning new skills from creative apps. Covid has really helped with 'me time'

Same here! Doing commercial stuff all day long can be draining and repetitive. I try to do at least one graphics weekly, just to clean myself out from the standard work. Currently working on 50-70s retro design style. Posters, covers, objects etc.

Been doing a lot of 3D just for fun lately. Eventually I'll use it in actual project but right now I'm just enjoying messing around with the physics and seeing what I can do.
