I have just started to make my own server and I'm using Hexane. If you use promocode HN you get some money off and im hosting 32 slots for around 7.50. It's fairly cheap considering what you get out of it.

I'd say get a dedicated server.. People say GMC is good but they are just crusty xeons that are reused and just suck. Most hosts are like that unless you get a dedicated in my eyes.. I have a server on GMC right now and it gets random lag spikes out of nowhere and I know for a fact it's not addons causing it. Look up psychz they may cost a bit but they are much better because you can do whatever you want with them like a server and web host.
Gmod servers don't use much ram it's like 2 GBs and most and a web host is much less. All you gotta worry about is CPU.
