how hard is it to get to global elite if you only play with randoms

This depends on how much you play and how much you train. If you only play competetive it will take forever, if you actually do warmups, read CS:GO theory, learn spray patterns and train on flicks it will not take more than a year with heavy gaming.

CSGO is team based, and randoms have the most chaos. Each game will be a new grab bag of possibilities, thus making achieving Global Elite far harder.

unless you are shroud you can't cause you'll quit by then, so find a team!

Unfortunately the ranking system in CSGO is terrible, you could play with/against really good players (players who seem to be wayyy better than you) or horrible players that play as if their monitor is not even turned on. CS:GO is a team game so if you have the luxury of having teammates to play with I would recommend to do so.

Global elite is hard to get but not impossible. Many people have gotten global elite just by solo queing.
