Start learning, don't invest yet.
NEVER participate in an investment program.
Ultimately, you want to make your own decisions, not to listen to someone else blindly, so LEARN.
Think about long-term, for a newbie, short-term is almost always will result in a lost, typically a massive lost.
Take care.

don't invest yet, unless if you interested in safe money depot or replacement, current market price changes are not worthy to invest

Worth it? Potentially? should you? depends. You should only mine crypto currency if you have the hardware/money to do so. You have to consider the electricity costs, the heavily decreased hardware lifespan, and how long it will take to make profit. It can take up to 2-3 years to be actually making money, but if you have a rig that can handle it, then by all means go for it

I totally agree with you, just like any other business you need to gain as muchknowledge as you can before investing anything, imagine opening a poultry farm without knowing anything about chicken.
There are many free courses available online and you can also attend some free introductoryseminar in your area (just google it).
