im going to speedrun minecraft

i want to start speed running how should i start with

First, look at how others speed run, then think about how you will implement everything and try to play more (like 100 hours and bigger)

well just chopping wood i guess, watch a speedrun video and try to do the same

hmmmmm maybe watch the videos and do the same, try it then u can find ur own style

Search for speedrun videos on yt and see the general tatics they use, like what biome is the best, how they do stuff. Also, try to keep beating the game casually to get the gamesense. Finally, get a friend to play manhunt with, it really makes you move faster and faster bc of the pressure :D
