i7 for me since it is newer. Recommend getting that than an i5.

Depends what you want init. I use i7 6700k skylake but if your running servers and shit go for a i9 xD or i7 7700k unlocked. Or a thread ripper 64 core xD That shit is worth like 1 band homie.
