Is role playing in gmod still alive and does people still spend money donating into servers, etc.

Yeah but it's unpredictable and you need to either do something unique or be sponsored/featured by a fairly large youtuber to even get a playerbase. So before opening a server be cautious and smart about it, and understand that as a solo or small development team that it's a long journey to success and that commitment and a want to create a fun server are the keys to success.

Yeah. But if you wanted to host a server. Do something unique. And maybe try not to make it as pay to win as the others. And try get youtubers on.
