No I dont think its too late to start playing. Although I would suggest to only pick it up if you have a group to play with. I cant stand playing the game solo anymore and Ive been playing League since Season 1.

with a lot of practice and technical understanding about the game in a few months you can be much better than the average player

It's kinda hard to get the hang of it
Alot of people use smurf accounts and ruin the beginner experience
It was very hard for me to learn the game but just go for it! preferably with friends
