is the new ww2 update like remastering the game sort of?

if you are active with call of duty, i'm sure you've heard of the new update that will becoming to the game that will basically just over haul everything michael condrey did to the game in the first place. some people are saying it's sort of like a remastered version now in a way i guess. thoughts?
