It's weird when I travel I have to keep it switched up. Listening to the same type of for long periods of time get's boring for me even if it's good music. So I switch from rock to techno, heck I even through in some talk shows. That's why it's good to come prepared with variety for long trips. Sirius radio may be worth it if you travel a lot.

I like the 1st fleet foxes album while traveling during the day. Anything by m83 at night.

Spotify has some good playlists that make the trip more relaxing.

try some mozart with earbuds and shwerve your car in sync with the music

The music/soundtrack in each of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies is excellent. They essentially took some classic oldies that fit well together - highly recommend as well
