I myself believe there is something but we're not far enough to find out, maybe in the following 50 years.

The "Through The Wormhole" series with Morgan Freeman is my fav... a lot of the streaming links I found had shoddy quality to bypass copyright filters I think, so I uploaded season 2 to my webserver for ya...,

I also wouldn't be surprised if we are the most technologically advanced species in the universe.
