the other day i decided to try nintendo's try in cloud gaming with Control (Cloud Edition) and honestly, it sucked. i have fairly good wifi but a low connection warning kept showing up and wouldnt let me see what was happening.

thank god it was a free trial, but it got me wondering. google stadia doesn't offer a free trial, plus you have to pay for each game. imagine if you bought $60 stadia cyberpunk only to find out your wifi couldnt handle it.

also, the whole idea of cloud gaming is to not have a box to play games on,but the consoles dont take up that much space.

so the question is,
is cloud gaming really the future? is it necessary?

Everything is moving to the cloud. Why pay to constantly maintain and upgrade your own hardware? But you're right, you do need a decent connection to play. Is there a way to can hardwire whatever device you are playing on to the router? Or move the router closer?

the funny part is, i moved my switch next to the router to ensure the best results. didnt work. maybe should start considering buying an ethernet cable for it

It's the future. Download games in a few seconds, play at the highest graphics. Once they have the latency down packed it will be the next generation.

Cloud gaming is the future, even if having a really decent computer is still the best for now.
Imagine cloud gaming on a quantum computers, if we are not able to have them at home it would be decent.
Even if it wouldn't be the near future or maybe it will

I have the XBOX Game Pass Ultimate, and it's honestly working pretty great on mobile. Looking forward to the port they will be launching for pc in the spring.

No experience personally apart from doing a lot of studying it in great detail, and agree it could be the way of the future, especially with more and more ISP's providing fibre at cheaper cost. The money saved by not requiring the best hardware to play the most demanding games would still save you s ,

Once America gets better internet everywhere, it's gonna be the new hotness. Pay for a fast connection instead of the top of the line computer!

Remember the days of Flash Games? Where you went on the EbaumsWorld and just clicked on games you wanted to play?
Yeah - that's Cloud Gaming. Its as freak'n near instantaneous gratification as we can get with today's games.

I have Stadia Pro and it works exactly as I expected it to, and that's great!
Its worth a trial at the very least.

For some reason I feel like owning physical hardware and discs gives me more for my money. Maybe that's just because I'm getting old though, lol
