what is your worst virus experience?

what is your worst virus experience? mine was a troll by a friend that ended up costing me some money

One of my client system got affected by a ransonware virus. In my opinion it is the worst of all, all your files get encrypted and you need to pay cash to the hackers to get files back. Make sure you periodically back up all your important files to external disk or cloud.

In the past I was a bit stupid, Downloading random files. Most of the viruses I got were Adware and Miners. Never lost anything but I am careful nowadays with what I run

a Virus ruined my computer once that i couldn't forget. Infected every single .exe file. It was a nightmare :(

Where my cpu was always really high. I hated it. Honestly. i could not even run minecraft >_<

Got some pretty nasty browser hijackers and porn adware in the past. Made my browser history... interesting

I had to reinstall Windows a couple of times because of viruses. But the only times I lost any files were due to hard drive or memory failure, or because I forgot where I put them...

A GMOD backdoor that infected every single one of my files and erased all of my backups

I had some ransomware as well, I had to either pay some ridiculous amount of money which obviously wouldn't give my computer back or watch ads.
