I recommend Five Finger Death Punch, it's really good.

i'd start with some innovators, see what sub-genres youre going to like, try At the Gates (Slaughter of the Soul album) and see if you like melo-death, that band inspired tons of bands after it in various genres like metalcore

Try Nightwish, Within temptation and Lacuna coil. You can not go wrong with this ones.

Metalica is really good. Fade to black is a nice intro.

+1 for Nightwish. If you like them I also recommend Sonata Arctica and Children of Bodom.

I got only a tiny bit into metal, but I apparently have basic 15 year old girl taste as far as liking power metal. Don't care! It makes me happy
