2.I like CGminer(cli only)
I don't really think bitcoin is profitable in 2019.

1. It looks like it will never be made illegal, the SEC seems to be alright with Bitcoin and other currencies. So I would guess there might be more regulation but probably not a ban of it
2. Bitcoin really isn't profitable for small scale operations. I would recommend mining XMR and exchanging it to bitcoin.

I highly doubt it will ever become illegal.

It's basically impossible to stop people using it, so they probably wouldn't even try

No why should it be illegal? Maybe there will be some changes in the futures so the authorities have control to it but no other ways
