Hey bitcoin is not illegal in anyone country anymore.
Few months ago china actually banned the use of btc but tat was only for 3 weeks and you should be okay

I would NOT invest in bitcoin right now, it's been in a pretty volatile state for awhile. I'd save your money and wait from some event where it splits or crashes again. If not, look into ETH and BCC, ride the hype wave
