Friends that I know who used to mine had said it's not worth it anymore with the cost of mining since the market is down.

Actually it's impossibile mined BTC, but you can mined othe altcoins with more profitable.

Example: ETH, LTC, XMR, NEO or ADAdepends if you want use GPU or CPU.

Yes, don't mine bitcoin it will be more expensive than electricity cost..

Currently mining is not worth it. I doubt it will be worth mining in future.
Better buy and HODL.

Mining is not even close to dying only few cryptos crashed in price like bitcoin and they are still mined with ASIC most of the altcoins(ones with low values were mostly untouched) and people that know there shit are mostly using old hardware to mine rasing crypto

Bitcoin mining is because to actually make money from it you would need a large pool of miners. Using a smaller cypto currency is better because you have a better chance of guessing the right hash.
