Self driving cars will be safe when everyone uses a self driving car. The cars should be able to communicate with eachother to determine the safest thing to do.

While technology is safer and I do agree with a lot of people stating that machines can make errors as well; have we also forgotten that us humans do make this technology, and programming as well? So it can go either way as far as safety
