Preferred code editor for web development

If you like ease of use, tons of compatible and supported languages, and best overall user experience go with VS Code. If you're familiar with VIM style editors and are looking for extreme productivity EMACS or Spacemacs are the way to go without a doubt!

I use Nova by Panic on macOS. Before that I used VS Code.

I like VSCode since it just handles everything (you can even get an FTP plugin so it can upload files on save - very helpful).

I prefrer using VSC, but if you have a low-resources pc sublime text is also nice

I'm using VSCode and WebStorm intercheangeably.
VSCode has lot's of plugins for various sophisticated languages, but sometimes it takes quite a time until you find convenient one (ie. C++ plugins are nightmare).
WebStrom is commercial tool but it's worth the money - it outstands other editors when coding in JS.

I used to work with Eclipse - I still think this is a kind of "standard" that everyone must learn (like VI editor). Many manufacturers (ST, SiLabs) provide their dedicated IDE based on Eclipse so knowing Eclipse is highly beneficial, but I stopped using it day-to-day.

VsCode - It is certainly not a lightweight editor but it is very extensible: the integrated terminal adds convenience

I started out with Atom but switched over to Visual Studio Code a fair amount of time ago.

my favorite is notepad++. You can use this.

Sublime text is good tbh try it :p
