Minecraft will live past 2020?

2021 AND STILL KICKING. I doubt that Minecraft will every die. There are games that are 20+ years old that still have a dedicated player base. Maybe if a new and amazing sandbox type of game catches on then Minecraft might drop in population, but that's a big if.

Oh for sure it will, there are many games that are over 10 years old that are still being played online

Minecraft may have not created a new genre, but it sure made it popular. Don't see it going anywhere in the next 5 years, at least.

mojang are great when it comes to keeping their game alive, every single new update they make is unique and makes the game more and more interesting

Optimistically, I say yesthat people will still be playing Minecraft in 2030. However, I've accepted the fact that everything has itscycle of success. From corporations to empires to games, one can be on top one day and down the next and so is life.

Therefore,while Minecraft may still be around I accept that it may not be as relevant nor trendy.

To be honest, I actually didn't think it would survive past 2018, but with pewdiepie coming in clutch and then the dream smp becoming a thing in early 2020, it really turned the game around.

Obviously, its lasted through so much and the era of "minecraft cringe" only to come back as one of the strongest games. I think just like most games its gonna last forever.

Minecraft will 100% live past 2020 and 2021 due to mojang doing more mojangs
