You need to have a community of friends who are willing to help join and attract other players.

if you want to learn how to get players follow these steps
1 be sure your server is contantly running the latest update of what ever you are hosting
2 have great staff members
3 dont take you power for granted
and be reliable to your customers

Gmod servers are hit and miss. Just maintain a solid connection and don't be a jerk and you'll start to build a community soon enough

Make your server unique with different addons

Get GOOD staff

Ban the 5 year olds who join cop and be mingy af

first step is create interesting server with u own addons and another content (not the map, plp don't like to download maps) second create normal rules, third create good admin team 'cause noone like play with schoolboys admins

Get a really good staffs
Make a good server
Make so people doesn't have lags
Really good Optimization
And a ad of your server would help

You must be actually somebody who can lead a crowd to be a server owner we're not all meant to be.
