Understandable but if there are coming more ranks will they also just start at some higher price?

I mean divine makes it so you don't spend anything on unlocks. Its a fair price.

Ignorance is bliss.
Knowledge is power.

It probably will.

Tbh some HQ peeps will probs upgrade regardless and this will only make the ones who are already upgraded feel that much more... well, upgraded.

I have both the money for it and I'd argue that I have the quality for it. Yet I see no purpose to pay for it, mostly because it can't even come close to justify it's price. Not even as a one-time fee.

Um... well upgrading isn't really necessary though right. It's like twitch subscriptions, basically showing support to the creator while getting some small perks to play around with and a snazzy name badge thingy.

There are probably some people who still have prime codes from past giveaways or some shit tho, so you can still get an upgrade code that way

Which is why content creators prefer to use Patreon. A system such as that works because of two reasons, or in some cases, only one of two reasons.

  1. There are proper rewards to are valuable enough to pay an amount of money for.
  2. You are able to freely decide how much you'd like to spend.

Currently Divine offers neither. It's "perks" can in no way justify it's price-tag and you cannot gain or support the site in any directly advertised way for an amount you can afford. Not to mention that people are (and this is proven pretty much every day) more interested in paying a lower monthly or annual fee rather than a high one-time fee. (Which is also another major factor why systems like Patreon and Twitch Prime actually works.)

Fair enough, any webhosting costs a lot of money. (Especially if you are buying it from a branded website.)

Fine with me. Upgrading is optional and no one forces you to do so.

There probably won't be new upgrades.

good thing i got it when i did, they are high prices.

Create a site for 50k members.
Then pay for those things on a monthly basis:
  • Servers
  • DDoS protections
  • CDN
  • Mails
Then add money for seasonal contests or events.
You could also add some more money for graphics and resources you need.

Remove tax and merchant fees from the income and finally ask yourself if you want to sell an upgrade for $6.

We're not content creators. Also Patreon is a joke.
