Yeah. All you do is click "purge user"

Oof, I still see a bunch of posts of banned people with strikes over their names.

Within minutes of joining and posting on this forum I noticed a large amount of closed accounts and their LQ posts making it difficult to sort through low quality posts to find real content. I've mainly experienced this in the BTC discussion area of the forum where there are multiple threads titled "y BiTcOiN s O hiGh" and half of those accounts are closed. I suggest that either all threads from closed accounts are deleted, or archived. Their replies to threads are not so much of a problem since they don't affect the overall quality of the whole section.

It's not really in the crypto currency thread. It happens everywhere.

*sigh*

Is this when you tested it yourself on a forum? Because nbb doesn't use it all the time.

It's a single user tool.
The thing is, we also perm people for the reason of ex. multiple accounts. That doesn't mean their posts need to be removed since they can be given a second chance.
It can also remove appeals and stuff like that, which might be useful in a case in the future.

Also we need to make sure their posts indeed need to be removed and how would we do that?

Great idea but without working through those problems, it isn't getting implemented.

Makes sense. Wouldn't it be possible to hide posts, then be unhidden when they are unbanned. And the only people allowed to see the hidden posts would be mods/staff/admins

Sounds like it would be resource extensive. Also when they get hidden, what then? Are we going to check every single post?

Would be simpler to automatically purge when the account is closed, at least if the account meets certain conditions like less than one week registered so that if notable members accounts are closed they won't be purged.

Run their posts through a grammar checker and ignore certain sections of the forum.

But yea, there isn't a great solution to this problem.

Okay. So people who were hq and got banned for something other than spamming (ex. R00t, or Diplo) would just get all their posts removes too? Nah I don't think so. Since both users posted some decent info before getting banned.

Thats what I said in the second part of the post if you read it.

"if the account meets certain conditions like less than one week registered so that if notable members accounts are closed they won't be purged."

I don't know who Diplo or root are so I wouldn't know what you're talking about.
