I just got a question, what makes a post "HQ" in your opinion?

Something that is relevant to the thread being posted and not a "thanks" or "nice post".

I meant non leeching posts, the ones that aren't "thanks", "ty for share" etc

Completely offtopic that doesn't involve with the discussion at all or is stating something very obvious.

As for the OP, I'll read it through soon and give a more depth reply to everything.

I was asking for his opinion but w/e

It can be anything, but again; Off-Topic is the main thing. I feel in general that the word "HQ" is used way too excessively. The site has had a massive Low Quality wave within the pass few months, not afraid to admit I've been a part of that. But it's basically along the lines of going off topic, having conversations in threads ( using a thread like it's skype ), posting nonsense to gain post count, anything really. An easier way to put it is, think before posting. Ask yourself "Is this actually relevant?" "Is this post going to contribute to the discussion?" And then your answer should be your action.

Then why not start off with warning or banning users that go off-topic and/or just spam threads with useless shit?

Hey Gummy,

I see. May some will go ham on me right now because I am prolly one of the most LQ users (atleast in the public forums). But as I said in the other thread (That Fady made some time ago today) I'll change.

That fady actually took me out, made a screen from my post and posted it IS something bad to me. I mean, I like shitposting, not going to lie. But if it goes that far already that Fady has to complain like that, I got to change it. I can understand that LQ posts are not good for the growth of this forum but since I like this forum and would love to let it grow I'll stop shitposting.

I think actually everyone of us needs to think for a minute and go through his own posts and ask himself if his posts are viable and something that strangers would like to read when they first come to this forum.

Hoping the best for me and the community now <3

So answer me a question, if you had a site that was somewhat successful.. would you want to get trigger happy and ban all of the people that are bringing your site activity? If everyone is doing it then who's there to blame? That's the problem within the site as of now, Low Quality posting is almost natural for people, they don't even notice they're in the wrong. And if you ban one, then you're going to have to ban the rest. Which leaves you with the people saying they're "HQ" and have 200 posts. Boom, there goes your activity.

The best thing to do, would be take these situations more cautiously; try and produce better content to provoke more High Quality posts and then whenever the majority becomes HQ again, that leaves room to ban off the LQ people that simply don't know how to contribute. Otherwise, you're almost certainly going to put your forum in a body bag.

I had nothing to reply. What am I gonna say?
"It's ok, I'm sure you'll do better next time!"

Prove it on the forums.
