Hey all, I don't post here often but I'd like to bring up a topic of discussion that has resurfaced recently in the Valve community, concerning CS:GO and it's speculated port to Source 2 as a result of recent strings found that referring to several major parts of CS:GO's framework appearing to be ported to Source 2 (eg. CS:GO's rendering pipeline, among other things).
As someone who has been part of the Dota 2 modding community since late 2013, I have had the privilege of working with the Source 2 engine since it's earliest public release (in late alpha state) back in 2014. With this experience in mind, I'd like dispel a few myths concerning the features that Source 2 might bring to CS:GO as well as make sure to temper what one might expect from a Source 2 port of CS:GO.
