Hey all, I don't post here often but I'd like to bring up a topic of discussion that has resurfaced recently in the Valve community, concerning CS:GO and it's speculated port to Source 2 as a result of recent strings found that referring to several major parts of CS:GO's framework appearing to be ported to Source 2 (eg. CS:GO's rendering pipeline, among other things).

As someone who has been part of the Dota 2 modding community since late 2013, I have had the privilege of working with the Source 2 engine since it's earliest public release (in late alpha state) back in 2014. With this experience in mind, I'd like dispel a few myths concerning the features that Source 2 might bring to CS:GO as well as make sure to temper what one might expect from a Source 2 port of CS:GO.

That's gonna be nice. An upgrade for CSGO would be really good. I'm a level 7 faceit player and got bored and don't play anymore, went to play MW instead. Are there any pros and cons you could give if it's ported to Source 2?

So i'm posting this for people who are skeptical at the release of source 2. Tyler McVicker from Valve News Network has basically confirmed that CS source will be released in the next 2 months. So why should you trust him, well for starters, he was the one to leak Half Life: Alyx 3 years before it was announced. He also has many internal connections at Valve, that he has been able to prove. Most recently, he showed that he had a beta build of Half Life: Alyx that he received a month before the game came out. He gets so much inside information at Valve, that he can't reveal most of the information to the public, and whenever he does release information he shouldn't reveal, he's always very vague, and he has been vague about Source 2.

i think it will be nice for csgo since cs source used source 2 and the game was great considering it was made in2004 and now putting csgo on that engine will make the game even better

Lets hope that all games that are being updated to this day are being updated to source 2.
