As for me, if you need a portable, portable solution, take a laptop

Always Desktop....
You can upgrade or change components every time you desire.....
Nowadays, I have an i7-770K + WC Corsair + 2 x 120 SSD + 2 + 3 TB HDD and a Sapphire RX580....

I particularly do not care about power or do not take my computer to other places. I simply define his place and whenever I want to access it is just to go where he is, which in the case is my room ahahhaa

Obviously desktop, because it's cheaper to upgrade and you get many options when you want to upgrade

I would go for desktop pc only because it is so much quicker than laptops, regardless. Hope this helps!~

I personally use a laptop, detach it when need it from my desk. Its currently strapped underneath the desk to provide a "desktop" experience with two monitors. I use it to casually game and work on my job mostly. If you get something like a tower, that means you want to dedicate a lot of time to it.

Getting a tower for the sake of getting a tower is wasteful. My buddy built a full blown i9 with all the bells and whistles with a custom stormtrooper case and RGB styled motherboard (its really awesome and pretty to look at) but after he was done building he used to to mainly play maplestory and browse netflix. What a waste of power, to be honest. But hey, to each their own.

I say go with a laptop, see where your computer life takes you and if you find yourself still wanting a dedicated machine, build it. Dont just go tower straight out, there is really no need for it.

If you're feeling dangerous, I've seen a few rigs where people have created a dock to convert their laptop to a pretty hefty gaming computer. Of course they used an external PCIE slot and separate PSU to make the whole thing work, but they were able to turn the computer off, unplug it and it acted like a normal laptop again. Pretty cool IMO!
