completely reinstall Garrys mod, clean the cache, bury processes. clean windows and remove unnecessary addons.

Simply rename your existing garrysmod directory (Keeps your Files), Uninstall it from steam and download a clean copy. I would also move all your subscribed addons into a collection and un-subscribe from them all. This way you have a clean install. If it is still bad after this, then I would look into your computer hardware or OS.

Install a can of ravioli in the PSU stroud. This will increase fps by 100000+ minimum.

Look in the bottom of your screen were it says the battery icon. If it says "Plugged in, not charging" you need to reinstall the battery drive. Turn the computer off and take out the battery and hook it up to the AC adapter. Then turn it on and go to Device Manager. Then uninstall everything in the battery category. Turn your computer off and put the battery back in. This is probably not the problem but it helped me. Keep in mind that this is only for laptops.

So, there is one mystery in gmod, since this old game is engaged in optimization with the very year 2007. The team of Garry is not so much bothering her and at the moment she is not so well optimized for the new video card. I can advise you to start the game from the processor, it helped me)
