Model ripper still works fine for 99% of things, but all of a sudden Ninjaripper isn't working. When I press the key (F9) it doesn't freeze like it's supposed to, which would indicate it's ripping the texture. Not sure if it's not picking up my keyboard input or if it's just snoggered.

I have tried to replicate this and ran into a few problems that I suspect might be quite common:
First of all, to run blender (x64), make sure to install vcredist_x64 2005, vcredist_x64 2008, vcredist_x64 2010.
also make sure to install the x64 edition of python.

I think sketchfab has recently updated their model handeling because, the new models are transmitted as a .binz file instead of .bin.gz
I don't know how to decompress them, but it might be possible. I have not found a lot of information on the type of compression other than:
https://dev.luciad.com/portal/productDoc...y=lls_binz

Hope this helps some one

Any updated on .binz files? They look kind of similar to .tar.gz files but they do not import to blender. I tried to just change the file extension with no luck. I know this has already been said but I was just wondering about any recent developments.

Alright, so I found a new article simar to the one found before, but it could be helpful https://dev.luciad.com/portal/productDoc...coder.html

I found a cool trick. It turns out that the sketchfab does not delete old files, so links to old files are saved in the cache of search engines and they work.

example:
https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/argenta-...HO26XiELFu
New files
https://media.sketchfab.com/models/ffBnn.../file.binz

Yandex.com cashed page (we can read old files)
https://media.sketchfab.com/models/ffBnn...e.osgjs.gz

Sketchfab-Ripper can rip these models by giving the old path of (file.osgjs.gz)

hopefully this helps.

I've found a link on how to decrypt the binz files, but I don't understand the instructions well as it requires knowledge of 'front end debugging'. Read onwards from '2021-6-30'. Also it's translated from Chinese.translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fnocilol.me%2Farchives%2Flab%2Fripping-sketchfab-models%2F&anno=2&prev=search

I've figured out that you can actually find all the texture images used in Sketchfab models the same way you get all the files for model ripping, just sift through all the png and image files and you'll eventually get the full sized texture image.
