How can i promote my server

on discord, you can add disboard bot to your server and set it up and boost your discord server every 2 hours and that can traffic players.

go onto random forums and spam your server

make your gmod server list name very catchy and eye popping

host giveaways on your discord will 100% traffic users

If you mean promotion then yeah just spread the word on discord, game server websites etc. But if you want to increase the server rating to promote it more, make sure you have a Game Server Login Token... you can get this at https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers and put the code in your command line manager.

just stay true to your goals and just be nice and advertising wise stuff like developers discords.

Just try to advertise on advertising discords. Set up a disboard. Post your server discord on reddit, etc.

Register your server on here. A big long list of GMod servers. Don't know how many people look here to find servers but it's one way.

This is Gmod, correct? Create a FB page for your server. Join Facebook groups as your Facebook page, and interact with people in the group. Try to be a helpful person, answer people's questions, just don't be a one-trick pony focused solely on promoting your server. If you want to take it a step further, make a highly targeted FB ad about the server for $1 a day. Do more if you can afford more.

I think the same marketing rules apply everywhere.

If you are more determined,make ads, pay to have your ads presented etc.
Heck,pay a guy to make you a commercial video that's memorable.Definately the best option if you can spare the extra cash.

Depends if you want the server to be big. For me my server won't appeal to many people so I just hope to have a loyal playerbase with common interests. The only problem may be donations not being enough.
