Yes, it worth it for the fun, but it mostly just depends on you. (:

You're probably going to have to spend money if you want to get people for your community, especially in advertising.

If you have friends you want to play with or a little community to join your server, sure it's worth it go ahead and try it. If it doesn't work at least you had fun making it and got a lot of experience! :D

After trying for years I had no players on my server and paid a lot of money. If you know you can find a cheap host else it won't be worth it because you will need donations to pay for the server.

Minecraft is the best hardcore PVP MMORPG on the market.

Of course, even you may create RP server, but never make mini-games server, because there are too many of them

Def Takes dedication, and allot of time.
I've ran servers for years, and even bought a server mainframe for my office.
Just take your time and plan on everything (Design, Theme, layout etc.)
Then focus on what you want for your players (items, Crates, Rewards, Ranks, etc.)
Most important is the Commands System, Permissions System, Work on knowing
what commands and permission does what, and how it works.
then you should be good to go

Maybe you can try to promote your future server on dedicated reddit/discord areas...

It depends on which community to promote the server! I kept the server in the Russian community; I had 200+ players online and how you will talk to them to make pranks, etc.! I personally did my server assembly.
