I personally play better with skins, especially with like a cool knife but I tend to get bored of the skin(s) after some time so I end up selling them and buying new ones once I get back to my skin phase again.

I once bought a knife. While it felt nice to have, the realization of having a basically useless item that costs actual money which gives no benefit besides bragging rights (which nowadays is also not really the case since it's not rare to encounter people with knives in CSGO) however came pretty quickly and I sold it. Honestly speaking: If you really want some customization go with something very cheap that you want to stick with, but not having any skins does not ruin the experience a single bit in itself.

I would recommend to get a skin on every gun you use... but it dont gave to be expensive
