Is it worth it??

Cryptos in general are good investments, its just like stocks except there fluctuations are a lot more radical. Look into aragon (ANT) but dont bother with btc.

I mean, there's no harm in letting your computer idle and mine cryptocurrency. What's the worst that could happen (assuming you don't go for any dodgy software) you don't get that much cash? Alternatively (it has nothing to do with crypto) if you want to donate your computer's processing power for a good cause, check out Folding@Home:

As you said, you NEVER should invest in something you don't know about. My advice to you is: read a lot about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, study the past of all this stuff, read the crypto news and always only invest the money you can afford to lose.

I would recommend waiting a bit before investing. I actually invested in a pretty expensive GPU farm buying the rig and everything then bitcoin when crazy up killing us GPU miners for the most part and the the huge drop really killed the market.

I would wait a bit longer I think for the actual market to settle back down and more trust to come back to the coin. Also there are multiple other cryptographers that are more stable and building like ETH or BTC-Cash

farming isnt worth it unless you have the budget for 10+ towers, 20+ gpus in the market(sli), and the electricity bill.

next you want to see which cryptos have a good backing, good developers, their roadmap etc : (tell tale signs between the trash and unicorns) --> every crypto has a whitepaper, read it if you're serious

if you're a nerd you can day trade which is VERY time consuming. if you're like me: find some longterm cryps you like, test them out. FIND ICO DATES, read their whitepapers, and if you're lucky you might land a high player or overvalued coin which u can then cash out or keep faith in.
