Photoshop is for bitmap, illustrator for vector.

Bitmap is designs using pixels.

Vector is using paths.

Bitmap is mainly used for image editing.

Vector is used for creating logos, shapes, etc.

You CAN make logos in photoshop, but you must work in a high resolution/ image size so that it doesn't get pixelated when zooming in.

Illustrator is THE BEST for clean logo creation and illustration. With vectors, you can infinitely zoom in on the design and it won't pixelate.

However, Photoshop is great for digital painting and drawing.

I would say that for a beginner the best thing is to start with Photoshop and work up to Illustrator.

I mostly recommend editing logos on Photoshop CC or CS6,I used to be a graphic designed and always edit logos there

It really depends on what you're going for tbh. If it's simple to make and you need it scaled, Illustrator would be the way to go.

Not photoshop for me , best logo creating tools are in Adobe illustrator. Because it works vectorel, not pixel design.
