MacOS or Windows 10?

#1 I have to get a new laptop for work and have been on Windows for as long as I can remember. I always liked the aesthetics of MacOS but never been able to truly try it. Plus, my work had some proprietary software that could have only worked in Windows. Now that I am with a new company, I'm wondering what are the upside and downsides of switching

The main downside I would say is checking the compatibility (especially now on apple silicon) of software etc. like 99% of software is windows compatible and most is mac compatible but it is rare to find any software that mac only compatible other than apple software, which are most useless difficult apple versions of existing better software.
