I was thinking about mining myself. I have a GTX 1050 TI, AMD 4300 Quad-Core Processor, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD.
Is that enough to start mining?

Also, is bitcoin basically just free money? I feel like it is? You just leave your pc sitting there all day just to. Well, gain money????? Bitcoin mining is so confusing to me. Can anybody please explain it?

1. For mining, CPU is much slower than GPU, so it doesn't matter what PC do you have but you have to own some High End GPU.

2. It's not profitable anymore, 8years ago it was. You waste more electricity than you actually mine, so DON'T waste your time.

3. Nothing is free. You use electricity when you mine any cryptocurrency and electricity isn't free.

Moving the webcam position, adding facial login and a four-mic array, giving Intels chips more headroom to perform even better and adding a 4K screen have all evolved the XPS into an even more formidable flagship laptop. In directly addressing the concerns of users, the Dell XPS 13 laptop is refined further than ever before.

In reality coin mining is not easy asjust leave your pcall day for mining work, there are lots of thinks you need for a mining setup. Mining complexity gets increased eventually and the hash rate increases, so you end up needing more powerful hardware and coin mining works best for those whose have a proper setup and cheap electricity. Also remember mining setup generates heat and noise. So it not ideal for everybody.

Consumer PC's aren't really that great for mining bitcoin anymore. You most likely need a dedicated setup with many graphics cards to do the heavy work. This is actually why GPU prices were so high recently.

As KILLERMANTIV said, mining isn't what it used to be. The prices have dropped significantly and you lose more than you gain.

Make sure your system isn't overheating, and be sure your computer doesn't ignore mining as being an idle task so it doesn't auto-sleep

Mining with a pc isn't cost effective anymore. Or you should not have to pay any electric bill
