It's good, my first low-poly art was also like this, I believe I did a wolf in a tuxedo. There are a few mistakes and some blank spaces where the shapes don't meet up, but it's only your first so you have plenty of time to improve. Overall I would say it's good. You should also work on your background, as others have stated; keep the focus on the center piece, the background doesn't need as many low-poly shapes, so it doesn't take away from the center.

I looked at your work profile and saw one of your designs.

Of course. First, I created the background shape using a brush, creating half of it and then duplicating that half and reversing it, as to have it symmetrical. Then, I created a masking layer and put the image on top of the background shape, that way the image is inside the shape and not sticking out. Then I created a duplicated of the background image making it black and white (I believe, it's been quite a long time), then putting the black and white version under the original. I believe I then just erased parts of the colored version which I wanted to make black and white, using a soft brush opacity on more delicate parts, and a harder opacity at larger parts. After I got the basics done, I went over everything again with a soft brush to make everything clean and to be sure I didn't have any hard brush strokes visible. After that I simply added some color corrections to parts of the image making it more vibrant and to make parts of it stand out more than others, then went over the background shape with a soft opaque brush to get the soft edges to make it look nice.

Now that I think about it, I don't remember if I erased certain parts to make it black and white, or if I painted over it in black in white, either way works, I believe erasing is easier, but can lead to more mistakes (though they are easily fixable with the paint brush and painting over the messed up parts).

Nice brief! Maybe you should publish some tutorials here and share your experience. Your works are amazing.

Thank you for the kind words. And I may just post some tutorials. I've posted tutorials on other forums, one of my favorites being an in-depth tutorial on how to begin digital painting, but alas, it islost forever, though I may write some new ones.

It looks really nice but I don't really like the choice of the background color and you can maybe try making the edges a bit better.
