MyBB 2.0 | Important things to remember

This is just a sort of notification.

MyBB 2.0 is being built from scratch, so your plugins + themes won't work on it. So don't spend your precious time making some big plugin for 1.8 series

The template engine used will be BLADE
The framework will be Laravel 5

That's all.
So please stop spending your energy on 1.8. It's of no use. It will be discarded sooner or later.

Its not like every 1.8 user is automatically going to upgrade to it once it comes out.

We still got lot of time for its release.

Why is this even relevant?

It only remotely matters to people who want to keep on par with the latest updates. Who says you can't keep running 1.8 forever?

Guys, just chill. He's just letting everyone know about it and to remind us.
Those who wants to stick with 1.8 can go ahead.

most probably 2.0 will be released in a year or more :p
