The choice between Photoshop and Illustrator depends on your specific needs and the type of poster you want to create. If your poster is image-focused, use Photoshop. If your poster is more design-focused, use Illustrator. If you are still unsure which program to use, you can always try using both together to get the best of both worlds.

honestly it depends on the style of art u make. but my answer would be both! instead of one or the other, i think both applications are worth mastering. for most posters i make i use illustrator for text and content, and photoshop for textures and photo manipulation. so at the end of the day, being good at both is the best choice

It all depends on the style of art you're doing, sizing and a few other factors and some may require the use of both programs. If it's all hand drawn or needs to be on a very large scale - go with vector art in Illustrator. If it's a lot more intense graphic wise and you need a lot of effects - go with Photoshop but make sure your file is set up properly in terms of dpi, sizing, etc. Most print shops prefer things being formatted through illustrator though.

Depends on what kinda style you're going for but I would say Photoshop personally, allows for way more effects and more complicated manipulation.

I'm an illustrator bandit, but I'm learning PS now. I still think they should have one app where you could do it all but then they couldnt tax us for multiple programs lol

I first made the mistake of not realizing how powerful photoshop can be if used correctly, adobe programs usually go hand in hand depending on what the work you're trying to accomplish is
