A Massachusetts man was arrested late last week on suspicion of conducting a cyberstalking campaign against a female former roommate, her friends, and family. Court documents reveal that logs, obtained by the FBI from privacy service PureVPN, helped the prosecution. Until now, PureVPN had always maintained it carried no logs - almost.

PureVPN was nortorious for keeping logs. They straight up lied in their TF interview, and said that "eventhough we keep logs, there are no identifiable IP's or adresses attatched".... That was bogus.

They also failed at protecting their users from DNS and IPv6 leaking. ONTOP OF THAT, they also would limit and cap their bandwidth, limit speeds even on faster internet connections and terminate your subscription via email after copyright claims against your IP (Yes, your real IP) were sent to them.

People need to read the small print and do some research, before trusting a company with protecting their messages and activities on the web.

He's done something really bad that he shouldn't have. The FBI don't investigate people for nothing...
