Yeah, that can be rooted easily. Use KingRoot (above) it is useful because unless your phone is rootable, it won't root the phone. I learnt that the hard way haha.

There isn't unfortunately. But lucky patcher does the same thing essentially.

Must be the bootloader then, it seems it is locked like mine.

I realised after I said it. xD
But I'd still prefer lucky patcher as it does the same things, but with more features veering away from just that ability and a nicer design.

First time I rooted my Google Nexus 6 it just sat there doing boot-loops, thought I'd bricked it.

Luckily I hadn't and the restore was pretty easy. Good job I didn't break a 500 phone.
