Terrifyingly huge insect found in China

It was found in August 2017 during afield trip to Mount Qingcheng in Chengdu.Its wingspan is 11.5cm




Its an eleven inch mosquito that still has living relatives still flying around in China. Thankfully, its only a mosquito in technical terms, as it feeds on nectar rather than blood.

I have to be fair though if one landed on me I would freak the f**k out

I am NEVER going to china now. Im cancelling my flight rn.

haha, not sure if it is a popular insect, it has only just been discovered so I imagine not

Nothing is more scary than mother nature. There are probably a lot more weird and scary looking bugs that we still haven't seen. I'm just glad that I don't live in a known area with those giant mosquitoes.

im glad to, i live in the uk and the scariest thing i have seen is probably a wasp :lol:
