The anime that broke your heart?

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. Not something for everyone, it is highly rated though.

Rurouni Kenshin OAV deeply touched me as a kid. Dark emotions, sadness and love at revolution times.

In One Piece when they shot the World Governments flag for Robin, it was touching seeing them willing to go to war with the world for a friend.

Assassination Classroom is one. Then the "Chimera Ant" arc of Hunter x Hunter also broke my heart at the end.

The best anime I've ever seen!
I'm still waiting for the next season...

It's not usually in the realm of what I would watch, but I would say "A Silent Voice" was one of the harder ones to watch simply because it felt very, very realistic, to someone who suffers with disability, something not often talked about in anime or manga. I had to pause a lot just to make it through like 2 hours

definatey chobits that anime dragged me down the rabbithole went with one plot and ended up with something completely different tho I do prefer the manga more then the anime

sailor moon man, use to wake up at 7am every day as a kid to sit down and watch that show before school

I genuinely cried watching both Steins;Gate and Code Geass - and for the latter I had to take a break from watching to process the emotions I had watching it.
