Yea, you don't wanna go for cheap sites as it could really fuck with your server. If you are in Australia tho I rec Wombat Au as it is a good hosting website

I'm currently running on serenity servers. It's about 2 canadian dollars per slot. You get ddos protection and barely any lag. The only problem with serenity servers is that you have to know what your doing. The tech support is horrible. I don't recommend you to econom on gmod server because it really depends on hardware.
For example:
If you have 1 CPU core with 2.4Ghz it would allow you to launch only some simple gamemodes(murder, ttt on 15 slots)

I am using HostHavoc, it's only $10 per 20 slots! It's done me well these last couple years.

I used to be on Nitrous Networks, but then I switched to Krypton.
Krypton is so much better, they are cheap compared to other hosts and they still provide really got service.

If you want quality, you need to open that wallet, I understand some cheap hosting providers are just bloody terrible.
