Its a decentralized currency meaning the government has no control over it.

Its an anonymous currency, meaning purchases made with it can not be tracked (in most cases).

Its a safe currency to use, which goes hand and hand with the anonymous thing.

Its a good currency to use online if people can't use paypal, or don't want to use paypal for sketchy transactions. The list goes on.

With bitcoin, you can't get your bitcoins back after they are sent. So you can't scam people. Its also completely anonymous.

This link explains where to get bitcoin: http://bfy.tw/39hI

I heard it's not that anonymous anymore

It depends which wallet you use

Apparently people have wrong understanding of BTC anonymity.
BTC transactions are public & can be traced.
What BTC does help you with is keeping personal information behind the wallet holder hidden.

You're right. But you forgot that you're able to launder bitcoin, which makes it hard to trace back.

That something i had not mentioned in the post, yet I'm aware of that. Good point made tho for those who didn't know about it.

The point is that it is very much anonymous when it comes to transactions and there are no transaction fees.
