Why a lot of hostings have linux operation system, why doesn`t windows?

I guess its because linux is much safer, its much harder to compromise a linux machine, and maybe because of free software too, linus is just better in every way

Actually, Linux is not safer. While Microsoft Server platforms are much more expensive, they also have upgraded securities that are kept up in realtime - something open source like Linux could never achieve.

It's free for use . And Linux running very smooth on all specs .

As kovujexit, it's faster than Windows, which is the choice for most server-based applications.

Alongside that, it's nice to know that Microsoft isn't buying and selling your data.

Can't agree with you mate, the fact that it's open source is a two-edged sword - if it's open source it's much easier to find potential exploits and make patches for them, whilist in microsoft ditributions if someone from the outside finds an exploit it has fatal results.

Nah mate you're wrong, Linux servers are way safer than Windows's due to the permissions and file extensions linux has.

Although there are more viruses targeting Windows machines.

No restrictions, Configurable Structure, Less Hardware requirement, Easy to install, Easy updates, Availability of the programming tools etc..
